A Founding Partner
in Hope

St. John's is a proud supporter of PATH and a valued member of its Board of Directors. Together we strive to provide a safe place for families experiencing homelessness in Monroe County — not just shelter, but a genuine pathway to self-sufficiency.

The PATH Program strives to provide a holistic approach to homelessness, building skills in money management, parenting, and personal responsibility so that residents leave with the tools they need to live independently. The average family stay is four to six months.

"Since 1990, PATH has provided crucial residential support for families with children — over 90,000 safe nights for women and children in need." — PATH House History

The PATH House in Stroudsburg

More Than Shelter

PATH believes that stable housing is just the beginning. Every family that enters the program receives comprehensive support across three key areas:

💰

Financial Skills

Budgeting, money management, and financial planning so families leave ready to sustain themselves.

👨‍👩‍👧

Family Support

Parenting guidance and personal responsibility tools to strengthen families from the inside out.

🏠

Independent Living

Graduates of the PATH Program leave with the skills and confidence to live on their own.

Rooted Right Here
at St. John's

1989

St. John's offered its former parsonage at 7 N. 9th Street as the site for PATH. Rehabilitation began using donated labor from Monroe County Homebuilders and area businesses.

1990

The house was dedicated as the PATH-Henning House in honor of the family whose generosity made it possible. All ten rooms were adopted and decorated by local church groups. The first family moved in that June.

Today

St. John's remains a board member and active partner. Each year local church choirs present the PATHway of Hope concert to raise vital funds for the program.

PATHway of Hope Concert

Each year, the combined choirs of local churches come together for a special concert to raise funds for PATH. It's a beautiful evening of music and community in service of our neighbors in need. Check our music page and Facebook for this year's date.
